I called Knowledge Hav & Refrigeration on Jan 1/2024 when we woke up to minus temps and no heat in our house. On the phone they said the call out to diagnose would be $225.00 and it should take about an hour to diagnose the issue. I agreed to the price and they sent a tech and a helper out to diagnosis our furnace. The tech and his helper ended up being here for 3.5 hour trying to diagnosis the issues. The tech spent a huge majority of the time on the phone calling Lennox the maker of our furnace and other techs and waiting for them to return calls to him because he didnt know what he was doing. He finally diagnosed the furnace, he said we need 3 parts and that he will get back to me with a quote for the parts. They ended up charging me $567.00 when I question it the tech said the $225.00 was only for the first hour, I told him I shouldnt be paying for all these house that he was sitting on the phone and waiting for people to call him back. I was already not happy because it was not what was agreed upon on the phone, I paid it anyway because we need heat. On Jan 15,2024, he gave us a quote of $1280.52 for parts plus installation and was not able to tell me how long it would take to install. At this point we have been without heat for 3 days and it was freezing inside our house, we were concerned about our pipes freezing so we agreed to the quote. 2 days days go by and no word from them on when the parts will be installed. I called a few times and it says the voice mail for this number is not initiated. I was finally about to get through and they said maybe tomorrow, I called again two day later and was told the same thing again. At no point did they contacts me to let me know what is going on with my parts and when my family will have heat. It is freezing outside/inside and snowing at this point. By January 23,2024 I have had enough and called Gandy to have them come out and diagnose and confirmed the price they quoted was 189.00 plus tax no matter how long it took to diagnose, they said yes so I agreed for them to come out. Luckily, they were able to come right away. The tech was here for one hour and diagnosed the furnace. He explained we needed a new Draft inducer assemble and quoted me immediately for the part and installation of $1670.70. At this point I pulled out the quote from Knowledge showing him they said it was 3 completely different parts. He was shock and said good thing you didnt replace them because that is not the issues and then processed to show the parts, they quoted all worked. I called Knowledge Hav and complained to the owner of the company that the tech did not know what he was going, diagnosed all the wrong parts and that I wanted a refund immediately. He said he cant do the because the tech was here for 3.5 hours and deserves to be paid. I said deserves to be paid for what he diagnosed all the wrong parts and if I had gone ahead with his company, I was still have no heat. I explained to him everything the Gandy tech explained and showed me. I said that I expected a call back by the end of the day after he had time to talk to his tech and fix the situation. He then offered me a free furnace cleaning; I told him no way was anyone from his company touching my furnace again. To date still no response from the owner
