My experience was horrible with AAA heating and cooling LTD. My furnace quit working on me Saturday night, being home alone while parents are out of town female in the early 20’s was challenging. My first instinct was to call Enmax, who then sent a ATCO representative at my doorstep. As told by the ATCO technician the neutral wire needs to be replaced and he did not have the supplies in stock to fix so I was told to hire someone. At the time temperatures hit below zero, I could not find anyone for assistance on Saturday night as it was passed midnight. I called AAA heating and cooling LTD. Sunday morning. Dean had come to my doorstep for assistance, which arriving late. He was ushered to the basement to where the furnace was, he did not even spend 20 minutes in assessing the furnace. I was told that I need to replace my furnace as is it not repairable and is a fire hazard. As according to Dean the wires were burned and “fraying”. I got quoted a new furnace for a price of $4000+ and that being the only solution. I did not get any heat provided to me, rather was charged $209 for he’s drop by at the house. I had to get a second opinion as $4000+ is not easy to come by. With the help of a family friend I was directed to another company who sent in their journeyman and fixed the entire furnace for $800 including labour and parts. I had called Dean to advise him of the solution with my second opinion with a request of a refund as no service was provided to me. Dean criticized the journeyman who fixed our furnace stating with the price that I paid to fix the furnace it will need to be fixed repeatedly in the future as it is not done correctly according to him. My father had also called Dean once returning to the city regarding he’s service fee. My father was told by Dean that he would report to the authorities that our house is a fire hazard with the furnace running and hung up the phone on him while speaking loudly and in a rude tone of voice. Dean was truly difficult to deal with.
