UK maids is a cash/e-transfer only business which is reluctant to give receipts. It took over 2 weeks and when the receipt arrived it understated the true amount paid. We were also quoted a 10% discount if we used both the cleaning and rug cleaning service. They did not honour the discount and we were over 7 weeks of failed promises to send a refund (e-transfer/mail/in person) which they confirmed they owe us. It took a first step registered letter as required for filing a complaint with the Ontario Protection Agency and 9 weeks before we got the refund. The owner, John, at week 3, started a “the scope of the job was misrepresented” and “did we think it fair to ask for a refund “campaign. They were hired to do an empty house move out clean but did not bring their own vacuum and were unbelieving when we were unable to provide them with drinking glasses.
I was told the house was quoted on a drive-by by Deanna, the owners’ wife, although they now deny they do that. The quote for carpet cleaning was renegotiated before the job started because it was bigger than expected.
The job was just OK. Carpet stains that did not get removed by the machine were just left. They had no protocol or method to spot treat tough areas. The cleaning mostly hit the highlights but many obvious places were missed
