Poor On-Site Service & Unqualified Technicians

Although this company advertises that they repair many appliance makes and models including Samsung, their actual capability is far less. They apparently use 3rd party appliance repair companies to actually perform the on-site repair work, and these companies do not have qualified technicians.

We needed our Samsung Refrigerator looked at since the ice maker was freezing up and not dispensing once frozen. We had previously defrosted the ice maker at least 3 times over a period of a few months but it just froze up again.

We hired RepairCare they sent the first technician, his diagnosis was that he needed to defrost the ice maker and that was all - really? Once we challenged him on that diagnosis, he "called his supervisor" who told him that it was a "leaking water valve" to the ice maker, and that was the only other thing it could be. So they ordered the part.

They then sent the second technician and he said that it was certainly not the ice maker water valve, and that we needed to replace the ice maker, but he "did not feel comfortable" doing that repair. He proceeded to defrost the ice maker and went away.

They sent a third technician who said it was the ice maker needing replacement, so we agreed to order the parts worth about $450, and once they arrived they would send a technician to replace the ice maker.

The parts arrived. They sent a fourth technician to take a look, and once he yet again assessed that it was the ice maker that needed to be replaced, he also indicated that "he was not comfortable" replacing those parts on a Samsung fridge and he went away. They also cancelled the parts.

When we called / emailed to complain and to ask for a qualified technician to finish the repair, they indicated that "they do not have any qualified technicians" to work on Samsung refrigerators, and the only technician they had has actually left the country - really??

In the end, we received a refund of the cost of services since we actually didn't receive any services, however the multiple on-site visits over several months was un-acceptable. This company should not be advertising repairs of makes and models when they do not have qualified technicians to repair them.
