Windmill Window And Door

I've done a lot of renovation and used many trades, and I rarely do reviews. But I wanted to do this review on Windmill Windows and Doors because of my exceptional experience with this company recently.
I looked at purchasing sliding doors and installing them myself to replace two sets at our cottage in the Muskokas as I had done this job two years ago with help from my wife. I did get a quote from another company in the area but was discouraged by the charge for labour- $1000 per door. I decided to get a quote from Windmill Windows and Doors based on the consistently positive reviews I read. I was therefore surprised when the job was quoted with labour at $450 per door. I went to their showroom in Huntsville and was impressed with the competitive pricing on the doors for the quality of product on display. When Gary came to our property to look at the existing doors and frame to confirm for sizing he told me he could use the existing brick moulding and that the pricing on the doors would be reduced by that cost. I was surprised that the revised quote was for several hundreds of dollars less. We put the deposit down on the doors mid-April and were told to expect installation (based on usual delivery from the manufacturer) late June. We were pleasantly surprised, then, to be told mid-May that they had scheduled our installation for May 27 and 28. They showed up May 27 and completed the job the same day, despite the need for some repair work to the frames of both doorways. Gary did take photos and contacted me to approve the extra work (which could not have been anticipated before the existing doors were removed, and which work was not covered by the quote). Gary spared me some of the cost for materials by using their own sill tape and caulking and the extra cost for that work was less than I would have expected. The last surprise was that Gary's crew replaced the door jambs and trim- work I expected to do myself.
I can't speak too highly of my experience with Gary and Stacey. Their pricing was competitive, communications were always good, the product is good quality and the workmanship excellent. We have more doors to replace in the future and it's reassuring to know that we have found a great company to work with.
