We used Joel in the past & were decently happy with the work he completed so we decided to use him on the 2nd go around for our basement mudding & taping. He provided somewhat of a decent timeline & was friendly at first.
Fast forward to when he said he was finished, he demanded payment right away & didnt want to provide us even 24 hours, as we were super busy at the time (which included cleaning up after his mess). We paid him the next night after receiving 2 text reminders & 2 emails in that span, even though his invoice said 30 days payable. The next morning when I went down stairs to start prepping for painting, I noticed really poor workmanship with a lot of the walls where it looked like he slapped mud on & didnt even sand (see photos). There was also a ton of bubbles in the walls. All in all I spent around 2 days extra of my time to bring the walls up to a satisfactory level before painting. On top of that, he got a ton of mud on our expensive treadmill & claimed that covering items like that wasnt part of his quote; no common sense & a lack of good business. We tried reaching out regarding the unfinished walls after paying him & heard no response back (we were ignored or blocked). We will not use Joel again & hope no one else has a poor experience like we did. I did give 1 star for some of his corner work.
