Main floor renovation

I strongly advise anyone thinking about hiring National Contracting (Nav) to steer clear. SAVE yourself the time, money, and headache, and hire a professional who actually cares about their work and respects your property.
We hired National Contracting (Nav) for a house renovation project (new flooring, baseboard, moldings, and stairs), and it was a complete nightmare from beginning to end. Not only did he fail to complete the work as promised, but he also caused substantial damage to our property (Custom front door).
First and foremost, the work was far from finished. [For example, the stairs' stain did not match the floor as promised, there was no railing or glass installed on the stairs, the front door was damaged but not repaired, the floor balancing was not rectified, and the left switch cover plate was uninstalled].
He violated the building code by leaving our stairs without a handrail despite several messages from us expressing safety concerns because we have two children at home. He was meant to finish the stair work (matching the stain on the stairs, providing and installing glass, and adding a metal handrail). We made a hefty upfront deposit. Unfortunately, he never offered these services. To make matters worse, he refused to refund our deposit.
Worse, the Nav and team caused significant damage to our home. They caused two dents on our front door while transporting the supplies inside and left them unrepaired.
Despite several attempts to rectify the concerns, Nav remained unresponsive and unprofessional. He ignored our calls, messages, and emails, and when he did react, he made bogus promises and provided no actual solutions.
This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. It's evident that Nav has no intention of keeping its promises or treating customers fairly.
Overall, We extremely disappointed and frustrated with the experience. We strongly advise anyone considering National Contracting (Nav) to look elsewhere.
Homestar: As requested, please refer to the image of one of the etransfers sent to Navindra (owner of National Contracting) and do not delete my comment. We did make several e-transfer payments.

Approximate cost of services:
$20,000.00
