We hired Andy for a complete reno on my sons first house and it turned out a very very horrible experience. We shouldve seen that from the beginning when we questioned him about his electrician as well as that it took three times to get the contract right before signing.
Well, more than 3 months later (contract end date was identified as June 26) and 4 (yes, four!) electricians later, the job is not even 50% complete, certainly not the electrical (which was supposed to be completed first and is still in dismal rough-in state) - so that we had to fire Andy, terminate the contract, and now seek ways to get our money back.
The workmanship so far has been extremely poor and full of deficiencies on just about everything he started and no single task has been fully completed. Most of his tasks (shower tiles, potlights, electrical panel, rough in) had to repeated at least twice to correct deficiencies. He consistently failed to communicate and respond to texts and emails, failed to provide schedule updates and a statement of reconciliation of contract value relative to percentage of work completed for the various reno tasks identified in the contract. Importantly, he failed to provide (1) the license number of any of the four electricians that he involved in the project, and (2) the ESA permit for the electrical work, as it turned out that he never obtained one. Throughout this 3-4 month ordeal, we heard many untrue and deceitful statements about permits and the sequence of work as almost all of the tasks were performed out of order and in a way that compromised the end quality of his work. All these have resulted in very poor workmanship, multiple deficiencies that even other contractors/trades people dont want to touch, and none of the tasks to 100% completion (not even the removal/disposal of debris).
We can substantiate the above with a full set of photos, videos and testimonials from other trades that we are bringing in to obtain estimates to fix Andys mess and mistakes and complete the work.
I am available to provide a full and detailed warning reference to anyone that might be considering Andy for their project after he managed to ruin my sons first house experience and reno dreams.
