Great cabinets, abysmal project management
We retained Highcraft to renovate our kitchen after a successful minor closet reno and cupboard repairs. The design process went well, and we knew Highcraft to be a quality cabinet making operation from a previous house. Everything else was an extended disaster. We vacated the house on the understanding that while we were away, the demolition and most of the installation of the cabinets would take place. This did not happen, and after three weeks we arrived back to a construction site that was far from even substantial completion. Excuse after excuse was offered, but it was clear that the construction staff (some young kids) were there only intermittently and were not allowed to do anything significant without the boss, David Jones, present. Unfortunately, he had other distractions. In the end, with a project that started the last week of June, and was supposed to be finished the end of July, he was fired by us at the end of October with significant deficiencies uncorrected (electrical, drywall, tiling, trim). We hired another real renovation company to fix them and deducted the costs from our holdback. Highcraft's cabinets are great, so if you have a real contractor and they want to spec them, feel free, but Highcraft has no clue how to run an installation or manage a project.
