Resurface the flat roof of a garage (and adding a 1% slope)
We recently had Vanity Roofing resurface our flat garage roof (with modified bitumen). What was initially estimated to be a one week job took three months, however I can understand that this was due to supply chain problems because of the Covid situation, so I have no complaints about that. We are also fairly satisfied with the final product and had no difficulty with the conduct of the workers or the management. However there was one serious problem, and that was with the final price, which was quite a shock, since it was essentially twice the initial estimate. I believed that we had a clear understanding of what was to be done at the start, which was captured in the Work Order that I signed as our agreement. In hindsight I believe that the substantial "extra costs" that were added at the end should have been anticipated and included in the initial estimate.
