Good morning Bibi. I am sorry to hear that you weren’t happy with the move that you recently did with Millennium Van Lines. Your move was scheduled to be a pickup and delivery the same, August 26/17, with the movers arriving to your home for pickup at around the 9-10am mark. We dispatched 2 men with 1 truck for your move, which was estimated to be between 2000-4000lbs. The actual weight came to almost 7000lbs. Normally, for a move that size, we would send 3 men with the truck as that is a lot of weight to be loaded/unloaded by just 2 people.
In addition to the higher actual weight, these men also then drove for a total of over 3 hours before they could unload your goods to your new home in Guelph ON. We average, with 2 men, 1000lbs per hour for loading, and about half that time for unloading, making their total day almost 14 hours before there can entertain the idea of being able to drive back. Anyone would get tired after the loading, unloading, and driving they did before the job was completed.
The boxes are never put room to room, they are ALWAYS put in a designated area of the home for the home-owner to go through at their leisure.
I can assure you that the men that we have working for us are more than capable of making sure the job is done, to hire anyone that showed they didn’t have the capacity would just bode ill for the company, not to mention to the person that couldn’t do the job properly. We are all for making sure that our employees are safe from any harm they may encounter during the course of their day.
With regards to the alleged damage to the items you called about, and the walls of your home, you would have been advised to email whatever pictures you would have to substantiate the claim in so that our claims department would be able to deal with the issue.
I have gone over your contract, and with regards to your comment about how everything we do is a fee which is wrong, I am a little confused about the nature of that comment. There is nothing on your contract except for what would have been disclosed to you from the time the original estimate was sent to you. If you could be a little more detailed in what you mean, it would be appreciated so that it also can be addressed in the proper manner.
The men have been addressed with regards to their language, and I am again sorry if it was offensive to you, that is why we count on the reviews of our customers so that we may be able to address any issues that may arise.
