Full underpinning, in-floor heating and flush beam installation
We live in a 95 year old home in Bloor West Village. The basement height was 6' 2" which meant it wasn't really usable space. New Depths lowered our basement floor by about 3 feet, installed in-floor heating below the new concrete slab, and installed a flush beam in the ceiling, giving us a beautiful and usable basement space with 8' 6" ceiling height.
The New Depths crew were amazing (capable, clean, on-time and on-budget), and they really know what they are doing (the area we live in is built on beach sand, which makes digging easy, but can also easily cave in if you aren't careful during underpinning). The owner's engineering background gave us confidence that the job would be done well, and as we have started bringing in trades to do the finish work in the basement, they have all commented on the great underpinning job.
New Depths was a pleasure to work with (everything you want in a contractor: honest, committed, and careful about how they spend customers' money). It was one of the least stressful home renovations we have ever done. They became more like a family member than a contractor to us. We highly recommend New Depths to anyone.

Good evening Alex and thank you very much for your review of my business New Depths Underpinning Inc. I greatly appreciate all of your comments and I look forward to sharing them with my hard working teams. Anytime we are excavating in very sandy conditions we certainly take extra precautions and proceed conservatively with additional safety measures that are often not included in generic permit drawings or engineering plans. Very happy to hear that the trades following us are pleased with the work! Looking forward to seeing the finishing project take shape and don't hesitate to reach out if you ever need something.
Thanks, Mark & the New Depths Underpinning Team
