New West Custom Homes & Renovation

New West is a nightmare to deal with.
In 2014, after excavating into our property during their custom build next door they left us with no fence for nearly a year, a dirt path where our sidewalk had been and a metal worksite fence covered in a tarp as our only separation between their worksite and our yard. During their build they damaged our siding twice and refused to replace our asphalt walkway until after they installed a vinyl fence (think about it.. pouring hot asphalt against a plastic product). It took years to remedy the damage they caused to our property. Our experience has been nothing but stressful and frustrating. Their tactics of avoidance and delay are unprofessional. I do not feel they have pride in their work nor do I believe they are honourable in their commitments. After years of demanding restitution we now have a crooked fence with unreinforced posts, a gate that was not properly anchored and they have finally, after months of emails and phone calls, paid us a small settlement for the damage caused to our siding, two years after it was caused. I've been told the fence "does its job" and will not be improved nor will a settlement be offered to compensate for the poor workmanship. Overall, I would certainly not recommend New West as a builder or landscaper.

We are currently in the process of building our fourth New West home and could not be happier with the process!

We love the fact that New West truly believes in building a quality home and knows the meaning of the word “custom”. Our house is our design, our style, our dream. We were looking at houses in the relatively new area of Watermark and visited the show homes. New West was the only agent who offered us free access to the existing spec homes so off the hop we felt we got a good reception. Fast forward to the purchase they were very accommodating with our possession date.

Of most importance we had many design changes from their planned basement development and they accommodated them all, Mike even offered very valuable advice on the design. After we took possession and even beyond the 1 year warranty the team was always accommodating with all follow up repairs and even now they team is always accessible if I have any questions.

Most of all the purchase of this house was smooth and the New West team is very accommodating.
