We were a bit nervous to start a renovation involving removing a load bearing wall therefore were happy to meet Holden at one of the Home Shows. After Holden came to do an in home assessment we had full confidence in the process and working with his team. Holden was punctual, professional and clearly explained every step of the process. Everything was "by the book" from the detailed quote to the engineer drawings and city permits. We have peace of mind that the structural work is sound and a beautiful open concept space thanks to the Larcon team. Definitely recommend them for any structural work.

Were so hesitant to remove an L shaped load bearing wall between kitchen and the living room until we met Holden. He took us through this overwhelming process so smoothly that now I call it the easiest part of our home reno project. From concept, to planning to execution Holden made it easy and even fun. to make this experience even better, everyone working with Lorcan as professional and friendly.
The house was fully functional during execution, minimal impact and minimal dirt, we even used the kitchen as usual. Holden and his team are sharp with timing, always arrived precisely on time.

There are no words to describe how impressed we are with the work Larcon Structural does. We had all the walls in our main floor removed (3) and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Every other contractor or visitor who came over before we put the drywall up commented on what great work they do. Wow. What an incredible experience. These guys are pros. Holden is so knowledgeable. Explained as much as we wanted to learn, and gave us all the options we needed to make our decision about how much to remove and what to replace it with. His crew even started earlier than originally anticipated and set off our home renovations on a positive note. We LOVE our new open concept main living area and you can’t tell there used to be a wall there. Thank you guys - our house looks AWESOME now.

After calling a bunch of companies in an attempt to figure out how to get our load bearing walls removed, I was happy to find Holden. He was patient and detailed with answering the many questions we had. His knowledge and experience with the permit process was very valuable to our renovation project.

LARCON provided an all-in-one solution. They brought in the engineers to come up with a plan, got the plan approved with the city, got the work done with precision and were also on site to ensure the city inspector was satisfied with the work done.

We had renovated washrooms on the top floor just before starting our wall removal project and were very concerned about damage to the new washrooms caused by movement of the floor joists. Holden's team tries very hard to keep house movement to an absolute minimum. They were true to their words - movement was "within 1mm" and no damage was caused to the top floor washrooms.

When I started looking to have some load bearing walls removed from my newly purchased home that I stripped to the studs, I contacted a lot of companies…6 to be exact. Some said that what I wanted couldn’t be completed and others said that we just needed 1 LVL beam across the whole span of 35 feet. I grew up in a family of contractors as well as having experience in a fair bit of home renovations myself, so I knew that 1 LVL beam was not going to cut it and actually concerned me that some companies would even offer that as an option.

Enter Holden…I knew from the first meeting I wanted to hire him and his team. The passion alone that these gentleman share in what they do is extraordinary. The workmanship that they do is extraordinary. The attention to detail is extraordinary. They communication is extraordinary. Everything is just extraordinary.
They arrived at 7am everyday and cleaned up the area everyday before they left, leaving such a tidy work zone. We had 2 large flitch beams and 2 large steel beams going up, it was such an amazing process to watch. They took the time and explained every detail to me a long the way which I appreciated.

The tricky part was that I didn’t want a post anywhere on the main floor and have the beams flush to the ceiling… Larcon made it happen. I had a budget and Holden worked with me on that, they were very fair in my opinion given the amount of work that was needed. I knew that they would provide me not only with what I needed BUT the piece of mind knowing that my house was not going to collapse at any given time in the future. I think people need to understand that when you are dealing with the structure of your home its important to work with people that specialize in this type of work. Larcon does this day in and day out and it definitely shows.

They started the project ahead of schedule on August 27th and completed the project on August 29th…ahead of schedule. They even took extra time on the Friday to re-frame my entire upstairs because they said it wasn’t to code. They care…a lot.
I can not thank these gentleman enough for the hard work and dedication that they put into my project. I would tell anyone to hire them in a heartbeat. When it comes to the structure of your home trust me you want Larcon involved. Thanks Holden, Taylor and team :)

Holden and his team are prompt, professional, fair and diligent. From the quote to the completion of the work- every step was smooth and stress free. Every step of the process was clearly explained and options were provided to a potential complication ( that turned out not to be an issue).
My home is a century home downtown Toronto and we removed the back double brick wall to create an open concept main floor.
My boyfriend and I are completely impressed with Larcon. They do beams and they do them right!! I would highly recommend this company....if I could give them 100 stars I could.

Holden and his team were highly professional taking on this small project (in comparison to other of his projects) their team was on time and punctual everyday and delivered exactly what was expected. Their assistance with getting the proper engineering team, permits and proper inspections were very timely as well. Overall we are very pleased with both the final work and also experience working with them. I would not hesitate recommending them for any structural job.
