New Apartment Purchase

Ive never used an inspector before so this might be what all inspectors do. The inspection notes that they do not check behind appliances. So it was missed that my washer was leaking and that my dryer wasnt hooked up to any vent because there is no vent in my apartment. Something that couldve been noticed without moving the dryer because it was just dangling down but it was noted in the inspection they dont check the dryer vent at all. Id highly recommend checking everything yourself and dont solely rely on the inspector to catch things. I did a mid rating because outside of missing that some appliances dont work, he did find a problem with my electricity and was otherwise nice to deal with.

Approximate cost of services:
$315.00

Company Response

Hi thank you for your review - we did find some major issues during your condo inspection, and all your appliances were run tested thermal scanned, the dryer was producing heat and the was was scanned with no leaks - I'm sure you can understand I am not able to move a stackable washer and dryer that was installed right up against a laundry wall in a room that was only a few inches wider than the appliances. Please read the standards of practice and code of ethics attached to the report that explains we do have limitations. If you feel every appliance in a home should be moved, you would require, one permission from the home owner do so, any damaged cause by moving such items would be on the mover to pay the repair cost (damaged flooring can be expensive) plus 2 strong individuals. I cannot accept that this is a fair review, a home inspection is a visual inspection - we cannot move personal property.
