Catalina's Custom Roofing

What a great experience from Catalina’s Custom Roofing ! Craig and Nicole are true to their word, and completed the roofing job giving us more than we expected per the contract.
Craig was the second contractor who quoted the roof job to us. Right from the start we could tell he was a professional who respects his clients, knows his trade well, and his language gave us confidence that he and his company was right for our job.
He answered all our questions and explained everything precisely. He took photos of the old roof once he was up there so we could see its condition. The old roof on our century home in Brantford was leaking in at least two places and Craig recommended that when the old shingles and tar paper are removed, we should first place 3/8” plywood over the old roof boards. This turned out to be excellent advice since the boards, though still in acceptable condition were between ½” and 1” apart, which would have made nailing of new shingles a hit and miss affair ( but that’s how the old roof was done! )
He showed us all major materials he would use and offered manufacturer and colour choices, which we appreciated, suggesting that additional new vents be installed in better places on the roof. We took him up on all his suggestions which made sense. In the end he installed even more vents (of 3 different types) than we expected, all included in the original contract price.
We found Craig, Nicole and all members of their team to be very professional, courteous, easy to get along with, and very hard working. Nicole – part of the team – personally delivered to our door invoices of all materials which they pre-purchased. The team protected our flower beds and windows and those of our neighbour, and the final cleanup was impeccable. Craig kept us updated often at every milestone during the project, without us having to call him. We received lots of clear photos from Craig of the final installation, which he texted to us.
I wanted to write this up mainly because Craig, Nicole and their team deserve to be honoured and recommended as one of the few contractors we consider very reliable and who did a quality job surpassing our expectations. I am a mechanical engineer and I look for details others might not pay attention to. He is definitely among the best contractors we have had on any job.
