I want to note my recent positive experience with Pristine Plumbing, particularly Andrew. This came about after a very negative experience with C & C Mechanical. This awful company was hired to do some drain cleaning at my townhouse complex, which involved cleaning vertically from the rooftop, then removing all the buildup horizontally from the lower units. The next time I did laundry I found my laundry sink filled with filthy water which wouldn’t drain. Years’ worth of gunk and grease had been moved through our pipes and not removed completely. Our property management asked this company to come back to clear the clog from my basement pipes. Instead of acting in a professional manner, their “plumber” walked in and immediately blamed the problem on the configuration of my pipes, as I have 2 p-traps. (I’d never had the slightest problem since they were installed 14 years ago.) He somewhat tried to clear the clog, but failed, although he did damage my drywall. He billed our strata for this visit, citing the ridiculous reason for the clog as being the configuration of my pipes, and then sent me a further quote for $1500 to remove a large section of my drywall and reconfigure my pipe, which apparently was the only way the clog could be cleared. My mistrust after prior dealings with this company led me to get a second opinion, and I’m extremely glad I did! I found that Pristine Plumbing had excellent reviews (now I know why) and after speaking with the owner Daniel, he sent Andrew to clear the clog. I was apprehensive but hopeful. Since the pandemic I’ve had 3 servicemen here from 3 different companies, and had a very negative experience each time. Apart from the lousy service, none of them had adhered completely to covid precautions. Dealing with Andrew was like a breath of fresh air. He was courteous, he wore a mask at all times with none of the nonsense of “pulling it down just to talk”, and he fixed the clog apparently very easily by snaking the drain. The job became trickier afterwards as he’d had to remove a section of pipe for better access. This pipe had initially cracked when the C&C man messed about in his failed attempt, but he hadn’t said anything, and I only knew because Andrew pointed out that it was already leaking on his arrival. Even though it added to the cost I really appreciated the fact that Andrew was able to repair it in a “minimally invasive” way as he knew how much I wanted to protect my drywall. I have to say that it really was refreshing to deal with a professional, polite and competent company after recent bad experiences. I will have them back for two other post-pandemic plumbing jobs on my list, and in fact Andrew took the time to advise me on one of these jobs at the end of his visit. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pristine Plumbing.
