New home, finished basement from scratch. Ended up adding on a lot of additional work on the main floor. Already recommended them to colleagues, one of which is going to start a big renovation project soon. Very happy with the work.
EDIT:
After finding an issue within a week of finishing the basement, it has taken over 3 months to get it addressed, and unfortunately, it is still not fixed. I have been essentially given the contact for John's "glass guy" and I've had to do all the hounding and complaining, instead of getting this issue taken care of. Extremely unhappy, especially since I actually already provided a referral to John, for which he's started working on their basement, and I have even yet to see this "referral" bonus. I'd strongly recommend to looking for another contractor, especially if this is how they treat a client that not only spent over $140,000, but also provided a couple of referrals.
The issue is the glass sliders do not lock and have large gaps between them, which is unacceptable, as one set of glass doors is for a gym, and I have 3 infants/toddlers, and the other goes to a bedroom, which requires a lock. This requirement for locking was STRESSED multiple times. The locks are cheap, slide off, the floor plates are misaligned and look terrible, and are too shallow for the bolts to go to the bottom. Extremely dissatisfied.
Additionally, do not believe his promise of "referral bonus". I made the mistake of referring him to a colleague when he promised to "fix" the doors. My colleague has completed their renovations, and still have not heard back at all regarding this "referral bonus". Very untrustworthy.
