Should NOT be in business!

I paid to have all my appliances installed in the spring of 2017. During installation, my new dishwasher was damaged as the licensed tech used his own screws that were thicker and damaged the top of the door when it closed. I let it go as it seemed to be an honest mistake, but pointed it out and he used the proper screws that came with the dishwasher which fit fine. I paid, got the invoice and had the 1 year warranty confirmed.

First event:

After a few wash cycles with my new stacked washer dryer, during high spin speeds there was a loud squeaking and banging sound where the top dryer would rock back and forth. I had the manufacturer come in who advised me the machine was fine. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the stacking kit was not installed properly when it was screwed in, and the rear leg was not properly seated under the metal trim, causing it to rock back and forth and bang on the top of the washing machine. I was also informed by the washer/dryer technician that the dryer vent was against code as it was far too long and had way too many turns in it as it was looping all over.

I called Anderson Appliance and Gas to report these two issued and spoke to who I believe was the technician that was at my house doing the install. He denied that it was him, yet he knew all the subtle details of my installation (well beyond any reports that may have been made on file). He raised his voice in constant defence, cutting me off as I tried to speak and said that they would not come over as there was no point, nothing they could do and that's the way its suppose to be (you can't mess these kind of installations up).

Second event:

2 months or so had passed and I was frustrated with the ongoing issues so I called again. I spoke to a women regarding the matter and was told 1) it was so long ago, 2) they no longer service my region, 3) I should fix the dryer venting myself and just cut it to shorten it, and 4) That she would speak to management and get back to me. I never heard back.

Third event:

9 months later now from original date of installation, and I smell gas behind my gas range in the kitchen. I have a baby at home so I call the Enbridge emergency services and they come to assess the leak. I'm issued a red tag A as they find a leak at the connection point of the flex gas line where it connects to the stove. I call Anderson Appliance and Gas and speak to the women once again. She asks me for the model number of my stove and within a few seconds tells me there is a recall on the regulator which would explain the leak and tells me to call the manufacturer to deal with it. I get the number from her and call them, they tell me there is no recall whatsoever. I call her back and report my experience. She tells me the following, this time in a much more firm defensive voice than the first call: 1) She questions if I really spoke to them since she thought the number she gave me was Monday-Friday and it was Saturday (so implying that I was being dishonest with her), 2) That I should still call them back to get them to send there own techs (even though they themselves had done the original install), 3) That it's been 9 months already and too much time has passed, 4) The warranty does not apply to the gas line and this scenario, and 5) That I caused the leak by cracking the flex pipe when I moved the gas range (which was impossible since I never moved it after the installation). She then proceeded to try and get off the phone, told me I could complain to the TSSA if I wanted, and that I'd have to pay $250 to have them fix the issue ($165+$85 Enbridge fee for the red tag).

I was fortunate to locate someone else who came same day and did the fix at a fraction of the price. The fix: The original installer at Anderson Appliance and Gas did not tighten the connector enough. It was loose. They tightened it and the issue was solved and my family was safe again.

An absolutely horrible way to run a business. Stay far away!
