Washer diagnosis

At first the website seems convincing. You think you are dealing with a huge company but in fact they only act as a middle-man to find a local company in your area that they sub-contract to. I could just have easily looked in the Yellow-pages. Although I had some ideas as to what the problem might be, a guy showed up in a personal vehicle (no van with parts in it) literally carrying a bucket full of tools. The technician himself was top-notch and took the time to explain what was wrong and what was needed. However, there is no way he could fix anything on first call. Clearly he was only there to diagnose the problem and would have to return with parts.
On the plus side, they did let me know up front that if I decided not to go ahead with the repair (which I did not as would have cost more to fix than replace the washer) it would be $120.00. Also someone was out within two days of my call.

Approximate cost of services:
$120.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?

Company Response

Thank you for expressing your concerns. Your feedback is important to us and we appreciate you letting us know about your experience with our company.  We have many technicians throughout Canada. Our company operates in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary. Ottawa, Mississauga, Burlington, Toronto etc.  We have technicians on stand by as we work very hard to provide same day or next day service. We have countless reviews/testimonies that could attest to the fact that they are provided with same day, next day, and sometimes immediate service. We would not be able to do this if we are looking for a company in your area at the time of request as indicated in your review.

Yes, we do have technicians that work on a sub-contractor basis. Our techs are top-notch and take the time to explain the diagnosis.  Whether it is a technician that works with the company or one that works for the company, we (RepairCare) guarantee quality or work and service provided. We protect you (the consumer)  by providing technicians (whether subcontractor or employee)  that are screened, certified and insured. This is part of the process we undertake in providing you with excellent service. You are given the peace of mind and security that a qualified technician is coming to your home and they will not take off with your money, that they will be friendly, courteous and professional. You cannot get this from the yellow pages.Yes, we give our technicians the liberty to drive their own vehicle and use whatever method they prefer when it comes to carrying parts and tools they use. As long as they are providing top notch service, are knowledgeable, and are professional and respectful to the customer we are happy to allow the technicians to operate in the way they see fit.  Unfortunately, they cannot stock every part for every model for every appliance out there. They carry the most common parts with them and there are many times that they will make a special trip to our parts supplier before they go to your home. If we cannot provide service on the first visit, we do not  charge extra for the return visit and there are no additional labour charges in coming back to install a part no matter how long it takes. We have many testimonies that confirm a repair can and does get completed on the first visit. Unfortunately, every repair is different and as such we must adjust accordingly, always keeping you (the consumer) at the forefront.

I hope we have been able to address your concerns. Thank you for letting us know. We appreciate your business.
