I needed to cut down a tree in my backyard that was starting to grow into a fence and lean into my neighbours yard too much. It was getting too big as well blocking out all the sun from my house. This thing grew fast and I found it it was one of those "weed" type trees. After getting quotes from about 4 companies, with one of them really untrustworthy trying to scare me into thinking I have a diseased Dutch Elm Tree... I went with Tim. The City was actually trimming trees in my front yard and I went out to ask them if they did private houses. I talked to Tim who said their company was contracted by the city actually and could do it for about $1000-$1200. This was in line with other bigger companies I called. He then said if i wanted he could also do it as he has his own private business on weekends. He was an insured licensed person as well which was great. Quoted me $600 if I was willing to wait a few weeks as he had other jobs lined up. The day he was supposed to come it started to rain about 30 minutes before hand and I offered to rebook but he said he wanted to stick with him promise and try to get it done. After about 30 minutes and getting about 25% done it became dangerous with lightning so we both decided to call it quits. Super nice guy in his mid 20's. He came back a few days later to finish the job while I was out of town. Took pictures and texted them to me too. Cleaned up the area perfectly.
While pulling the branches out from the backyard between the tight space between my house and my neighbours, he accidentally bent one of her tomato cages. He insisted on paying her back for the bent cage which I thought was awesome.
Back yard looks great now and neighbors are much happier. Saved myself potential bigger bill if tree ended up breaking.
Totally recommend you give him a try.
