We have been lucky enough to have the SilverStar Homes team work on two projects for our properties over the past couple years. The attention to detail and genuine care to go above and beyond was much appreciated. We couldnt be more happy with how the home addition, laneway suite and house remodel went. Would highly recommend and no doubt will be using them in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Allan for the renovation of my laundry room and basement, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, Allan demonstrated exceptional professionalism, skill, and attention to detail.

The projects involved new flooring, lighting, plumbing, new cabinetry, and painting. Allan offered valuable suggestions and solutions on how to bring to life my vision for the space, while keeping my budget in mind.

Communication was seamless throughout the project. Allan kept me informed of progress, advised me when he would be on-site/off-site, promptly addressed any questions, and ensured everything was completed to my satisfaction.

My laundry room and basement are now beautiful, modern, and functional! I highly recommend Allan for any renovation project. He made the project enjoyable, and his expertise and dedication to quality are unmatched.

Allan has been helping me for more than a year doing design, planning and administration related to and upcoming large scale reno. The scope he was given was: first floor gut, moving stairs, roof removal and ... keep it 'cute' and like it belongs in the neighbourhood.

Allan took an enormous amount of pride and effort to ensure that the proposed house was in line with the neighbourhood (Roncesvalles) and that it met my internal goals (extra bedroom, bathroom, etc). His attention to detail is immaculate and his patience with me was impressive.

Allan completed the job (taking it to Committee of Adjustment approval) and prepared an incredibly clear document to support the application providing pictures and precedent (in previous COA decisions). Allan guided me through all steps of the journey and attended the COA meeting (which worked well as he was able to encourage the review on a day when the city's tech failed).

Allan is a fantastic communicator: clear, consistent and very reliable. I was never unaware about where we were, what was next, or what areas of risk we had. I was informed of costs at all stages and there haven't been surprises.

And, after many many months, the COA approval came through. To build we go!

We hired Allan at SilverStar Homes to do a basement renovation in 2022 and were thrilled with the work. Allan offers great communication throughout the planning, design, and execution of the project, so there were no surprises along the way. The quality of the work and his attention to detail is also next level. We would not hesitate the hire Allan again and would definitely recommend to others!

We recently hired SilverStar Homes to renovate our existing basement. With two teenagers looking for a space to entertain friends and the need for a home office it was time to update a neglected space that nobody wanted to use. After discussing the job with a couple different contractors we decided to hire SilverStar Homes for the project. Not only were they reasonably priced but Allan is quite talented at listening to our ideas and making them work within the existing space. I am quite happy with the final floor plans that he designed.

Another thing that really appealed to us was that once they started the project they didnt leave until it was finished. You could see progress daily which was reassuring that it would be completed in a timely manner, which it was. They also went out of their way to keep the house clean the entire time which was nice considering that we were still living there. The quality of the work was better than expected as well. We did the majority of the space with wainscoting on the bottom 3 of the walls and it looks amazing! I could go on and on but the bottom line is if you want quality work at a reasonable price from a company that is great to deal with you wont find any better. I am already planning my next renovation with them!

We hired SilverStar Homes to renovate the third floor of our Edwardian house. We have completed a number of renovations throughout our home and have used several contractors over the years. Allan has been BY FAR THE BEST for so many reasons!

Allan takes a lot of pride in the quality of his work and this showed at every step in the process. He was thoughtful about design and the practicalities re: how we wanted to use the space. He is extremely knowledgeable and seemed to really understand the ins and outs of renovating an old home. Allan has incredible attention to detail and we were so impressed with his craftsmanship. He even installed a sauna for us!

Unlike many other renovation companies that hire tradespeople who many not deliver a promised degree of quality, Allan did most of the work himself. He sometimes hired trades to keep the project moving along and on time however he was at our home daily working himself and overseeing the trades he hired.

Communication with Allan was easy. He has an incredible work ethic. He was respectful of the fact that we were living and working from home throughout the renovation, and kept the work area as tidy as possible. He was fair in his pricing.

Allan really is a diamond in the rough in this industry! We are so pleased with how our renovation turned out and it really was a pleasure working with him.

We had Allan do 6 separate tasks, all exterior work, some repair work (e.g. repair posts under an existing deck), some new construction (e.g. build a new and matching porch and stairs at a different entrance). He was helpful in defining the scope of the work, fast, smart, neat and tidy, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely retain him for any future work we might have.

Allan did an amazing job renovating our cottage. He coped with unexpected problems left from previous building projects with creativity and good humor. He was always prompt and left everything clean. He had great ideas and his workmanship was excellent.

Bought a home in 2015 from silver star homes and it is of great quality. Work was thorough and finish was fantastic, discovered a minor issue with the rough in bathroom in the basement and the builder was easy to access and great to deal with, a small problem was taken care of immediately and with the same quality as the original build!
