Paul's inspection was extremely thorough and definitely worth the fee.
As first-time home-buyers we thought we knew a reasonable amount about inspecting our suite but he found a few major gotchas. I would never have thought to test electrical outlets to make sure they worked (a third of ours did not) and he pointed out that although the rubber hoses for our laundry equipment met the spec that we should upgrade them as soon as possible to cable-wrapped to avoid future problems.
He was on-time and dealt with the less-than-happy builder in an extremely professional but firm manner. I would highly recommend Paul's services to anyone.

Paul was referred to me by my good friend and realtor and he did an excellent and very thorough job, looking at the exterior, roof, windows, plumbing and electrical part of the building and then inspecting the inside of the suite, including testing all appliances, toilets, faucets, gas fireplace and electrical components. He checked for wall/ceiling damage and tested for moisture around toilets and behind tiles in bathrooms. He talked through his inspection with me as he did it and went through everything with me again to ensure that I understood all that was done. I have had some previous experience with home inspectors, but Paul was by far, the most thorough and professional of any that I have dealt with. I would strongly recommend using Paul's services and will continue to use him in the future myself.

I had several recommendations for home inspectors and got quotes from 3-4. Paul's rates were very reasonable given the scope of work and included IR screening of the home for any areas of heat loss.

Paul did a very thorough inspection of the house and property, he was on the roof, in the yard, in the attic, tested all the appliances, checked plugs, wiring, plumbing, foundation, etc., etc. He took pictures of everything with his iPad and sent me a FULL electronic report within 2 hours! The report was complete with pictures, comments, deficiencies, recommendations, anything serious was highlighted while others were just noted or recommended.

Before leaving the property, Paul took the time to go over all his findings with me and discuss what was good and what needed to be done and pointed out some really nice positives in the property. Included with his inspection is a free "home care guide" binder for general home care and maintenance.
