Frustrated... To say the least
I dont know where to begin to summarize this business encounter without sounding too harsh or disrespectful. I will do my best to be direct and factual.
As a business owner/operator myself, customer satisfaction is key to company's growth. Common sense, no? Having said that, I called Yardworx as a new customer to book a yard service at my house. Gold package is the option we chose, I work long hours and dont have the time anymore. The package basically contained: Power Rake, Lawn cut and trim, blowout of beds and hedges and last, aeration. Based on our property size, the lady quoted us $238.. plus GST. Total paid: $250.43
"No problem!" I said. I did tell the booking lady (very friendly), that we tried another company prior year and were unsatisfied with the outcome.
We are not picky, we just want what was promised and paid for. I personally know what it is like to have a customer that is never happy, no matter what you do... This is not the case.
We had no problem that they could not guarantee the day the work was to be done, we understand, it is weather dependant. On the unspecified day, we saw through our alarm company video (Vivint), that they arrived at 9.15 am and left 10 am. approx. +/- 5 mins. "who cares?' i say," so long as the job is done properly. They're pros and do this daily".
My wife called me first, "the lawn is cut very choppy, the mulch (tree bark) from the base of our trees is blown all over the lawn!" My natural response was, "honey, ill take a look when I get home, don't sweat it".
Upon my arrival, after dark, 930 pm approx, I placed a high intensive LED flashlight along the tips of of my grass on my backyard lawn, and, looked for those "missed/stand out" spots. It was evident that they missed, a lot.
I don't blame the worker, maybe they are pressured to do quick and fast.
Anyhow, "no big deal" i say to my wife as i try to ease the tension, reassuring her that it will be looked after.
The next day, I know that I have to call in to Yardworx and discuss our current situation. Guess who called me first? My neighbour! "Your lawn care people blew all the leafs and mulch and so on... on to my property and my vehicle!!!!" Imagine the embarrassment I felt. He demanded their ph. info to call and complain. I provided the info and awaited his call back regarding the outcome of his complaint. I didn't think I needed to add stress to this situation by calling and "***ching" on top.
As Im at work, a rep or manager, with a thick accent, no disrespect, called to hear and understand the issue at hand. She was super nice, however, she had no definite reassurances (verbal) to make me feel at ease. She said that the crew will go back and clean the mess off my neighbours property and redo mine.
As a result, I bought my neighbour a 12 pack to make it up. Company management never followed up to see if I am happy with the outcome. I don't want a discount. I just wanted it to be right. I seldomly leave reviews, especially ones like this. But someone has to say something.... I wish them luck, maybe you'll catch them on a better day!
