We initially heard about Tommy and Barklake Construction by referral from others who had very positive feedback. We hired Tommy Mullen and his crew from Barklake Construction over the last few years to do a number of renovations on our house. Among the first few things were creating and installing a built-in tv and storage unit and installing French doors. These were actually complicated jobs as we live in an old house and nothing is standard measurements or fits the way it is supposed to. Tommy and his crew did a fantastic job of customizing everything to fit perfectly and level, and it all looks beautiful. When we decided to do a larger scale project we hired Tommy without hesitation based on his fair prices, expansive knowledge, and trustworthy, easygoing personality. We hired him to renovate the entire main floor of our house, which included, removing a double brick load bearing wall, and placing a steel beam header above the new opening, replacing the hardwood floor, installing an under floor heating system, re-tiling the fireplace hearth, and completely gutting the kitchen. We knew we made the right decision as Barklake was consistently reliable and their work was impeccable. Having an older home means needing to be prepared for the unexpected, and Tommy had the expertise to predict and resolve any issues we encountered along the way. Every morning they arrived on time right at 8:00 am and completed all of the work within our 6-week timeframe and completely on budget. They left the house spotless every evening. Even though they knew they were coming back the next morning, they cleaned up as though they had never even been there. They were extremely pleasant to deal with, listened to and addressed any concerns we had and worked cooperatively with us to achieve the results we had envisioned. We will definitely bring Tommy and Barklake Construction back for our next project.
