Adira Kitchens

We hired Adria construction to install our kitchen in Sept 2013. I really wish we had done our homework before hiring this company. Marcel, the owner of Adira was very friendly at first to deal with. That is until he received his money down. After that he blew us off on the timeline. We had gutted our own kitchen to save money. The install did NOT start when it was supposed to. It was 2 weeks late.In fact we had ordered wood boxes, and received white melamine boxes. When we complained he said ok then go elsewhere. That would have involved waiting another 6-8 weeks. We had no choice but to accept the white boxes that we did not want. We were never reimbursed for the difference in price. We had to use our bbq to cook, and our bathroom sink to do dishes during this time. Then the cabinets were installed. While the actual cabinets look very nice Marcel did not make them as he claims. Another cabinet shop did/does. Marcel just claims them as his own, saying that they are made at his other location. This does not exist. During the week that it took Marcel to install Marcel had to borrow tools from us to install the cabinetry as his were faulty. We had to fix the side panel of our pantry during install as it was all bubbling out. If the glue had set the way he had left it the whole panel would have been warped. When we complained to Marcel that some of the drawers were sticking, and the pullouts were not working Marcel ignored us. In fact Marcel was rude, and arrogant to us, refused to answer our calls, or emails, and never returned to our home to finish the final touch ups at all.The light valance was gaping from the bottom of the cabinetry so that the light shone through there. To this date we are still missing a toe kick, and have visible unfinished wood. My husband had to make the adjustments to the sticking drawers, and the light valance. While Marcel does not make the boxes, or cabinets, he does have a spray booth where he stains and sprays the doors. We now have doors that are chipping. Very shoddy workmanship. I have spoken to other customers of Adira and they too have had similar problems. I definitely would NOT recommend this company.
