This is a DIY radon installation review with Radon-Kit purchased from RadonWest.
RadonWest supplies the Fan and all the parts to install yourself. Renata will answer all your radon DIY questions. She will advise and mentor you about coring your basement, best practices for excavating under the slab, fan selection, clearance requirements, noise reduction, energy consumption and best practices for installation.
You can purchase their DIY kit or you can buy à la carte products from them. You can DIY for about $960 complete, $675 of that is the kit. They don't do the coring, however I recommend ABC Coring as they are quick and affordable. The gas-vent pvc piping and fittings are available at Lowes. With their variable-speed fan, I dropped my levels down to 12 Bq/m³
Renata had no problems answering all my many email questions I had. All the advice she provided was more than worth the value of the products.
I highly recommend RadonWest if you are somewhat handy and would like to save on your radon installation. And if you're not handy, they do install and will do a complete radon analysis first.

Hi Dave, thanks for reviewing your DIY experience. While we always recommend using a C-NRPP certified professional we do think everyone should be able to reduce their radon levels in their home and will supply information to make sure it is a safe system and it follows proper clearances according to CAN/CGSB-149.12-2017. A DIY system is a different system than a certified system as it basically just the construction, a certified system is quite technical and the fan is sized according to the home operation. Not all DIY systems work but yours has been a success, congratulations. Make sure you keep monitoring your levels in all seasons to ensure the fan is not overcome by your building pressures. All the best for 2021! The Radon West Team.
