This project was a very positive experience-Rob very prompt at answering my initial call + his quote reasonable/fair-on the day scheduled-the crew arrived on time-we reviewed the work required-very strong ongoing communication during the day-the lead arbourist-I believe his name was Griffen-he`s in the bucket-is an artist-takes pride bigtime in getting the job done right-the entire crew has the same attitude-they all go above + beyond to ensure client satisfaction-it`s amazing to watch the process-so quick + efficient-clean-up the best-hiring Rockwood is a no-brainer-I would hire again in a heartbeat + will recommend to family/friends-thx again boy`s for a job well done!---Dan

A very professional and personable crew. NOTHING seemed too difficult for them to tackle. I couldn't believe how quickly they pruned and trimmed my humongous tree. I've hired two different companies in years past, and my tree has grown immensely since the last pruning, ROCKWOOD has been the fastest crew ever. WOW!!! They left my property looking more cleaned-up than before they arrived.

Replied promptly to my request for an estimate. Outlined several options to complete the work. Listened to my concerns and described in detail how the work was to be done. Great job.

Had to remove a dying tree leaning on my neighbours fence. Part of the work had to be done on my neighbours side. The guys worked quickly and efficiently. I was worried about debris on my neighbours side but they cleaned up everything. There was a miscommunication on the estimate but Rob adjusted the rate. Excellent customer service.

We interviewed three companies, one an "old-school" team that was in the neighbourhood and two other more modern companies listed here on Homestars. We provided photos and had each company come out to provide a free estimate. They all were professional and friendly.

But, we could tell there was a difference, even from our first meeting. The "old-school" team was very accommodating and seemed like they would be willing to cut anything (which was a little concerning). The other two companies had professionals who really knew trees and had opinions about what could be cut, what is risky to cut, and what they advised against if we wanted to ensure that the tree would live.

So, for peace of mind, we narrowed things down to the two new teams. With both presenting a professional and knowledgable interview, it boiled down to a price difference. In the end, we choose Rockwood because their price was very competitive and they seemed to have the expertise.

Next, we were concerned about the old "bait and switch", where a smooth talking sales person shows up, WOWs the customer and then sends in a hack-team of newbs. This was NOT the case with Rockwood.

Rob sent a great team of Tim and Bryson to do the work. They showed up early! They were friendly and when things were a little uncertain, they could call Rob and talk with us to work things out. In fact, everything did work out.

The team did a great job. They were efficient, friendly, able to adapt when we asked them to do more (and paid them fairly). Best of all, they did a great job of cleaning up.

We honestly could not have asked for better service. I highly recommend these guys. I'm sure that when the season gets busy, they will be booked many weeks or months out - so be sure to do yourself a favour and book them early!!!

I had concerns about hazardous white pine leaning over my home from an adjacent yard for several years. One day I saw Rockwood working in my neighbourhood, and asked if someone could give an estimate.

Rob came to evaluate the tree on the same day. He gave me detailed instructions on the permit process, and referred me to a forestry consultant for the required tree reports.

The permit process with the city ended up taking 7 months, to no fault of Rockwood. Rob was incredibly helpful through the duration with helpful tips and connections to smooth out the process.

When we finally got our permit, the crew @ Rockwood were fast, clean and safe. The other two neighbours involved were very happy with the service. The guys cut some beauty 8' logs for me that I've since had milled into slabs!

This is an amazing group of hard working people and should be nominated for workers of the year. Right from Rob who showed right up on time for a quote to the workers who also where right on time for the work to be done. Any issues were dealt with in a responsible and professional manner. Rockwood should be your choice for tree removal or trimming. They went above and beyond.

This is an amazing company. They were recommended by neighbours and I am so glad and relieved that we used them. Firstly they came exactly when they said they would, both for the quote and on the pre-booked date for the work. Rob was very easy to get ahold of via phone or e-mail. We have a large ravine property and had years of deadwood and limbs to dispose of. Because that wood was very deep on our property Rob gave us two options for pricing - less if we brought it up to the street ourselves, which we did (my teens weren't too happy though...) They took all of it. The next main worry was an enormous old lesioned maple in our front driveway - overhanging garage, driveway and two homes. There were electrical wires as well. They did an astounding job - I really couldn't believe nothing went wrong. They had all the necessary equipment (including a huge cherry picker), manpower (and womanpower actually) and skill. Also patience. The rest of the job was finicky because we had to get clearance around our whole house from a bunch of different cedar hedges, old apple tree and various other smaller trees some of which we wanted gone, and others they patiently took off limb by limb until we were satisfied enough had been removed to provide clearance. They were at our home the entire day 8am-6 pm and their team of 3 (plus a couple of Rob checkup visits) got everything done, including all cleanup. It had to be complete because we were getting the roof done and they were true to their word. Their price was more than fair, I'd say unbeatable. If, like us, you've been meaning to get your tree work done forever, you don't have to put it off. You will be so relieved to get it done by Rockwood. I'm sure they will remain a mainstay in the Bluffs for years to come.

The company is very busy and they managed to squeeze us in when we called. They are very hard working and do an amazing job. We are extremely pleased with everything. They even followed up with us to ensure we were happy. Thank you!
