Pros:
- Patrick did great work and was incredibly professional and easy to talk to and was great answering questions.
- The job was done well (as far as I can tell)
- The job was done on time
- Jerry was open to suggestions
Cons:
-One of the days worked they had a person doing the work that was not bonded in fact he was a kid who was suspended from school.
- They did a very poor job in covering up the floors going to the basement.
-They did not put any cover over the washer and dryer, and other items that were in the basement while hammering out and jackhammering all the concrete out of the floor, so they were all coated with concrete dust.
- I had to tell the guys working in the basement to get a fan going as the dust was choking us upstairs. They had one they had just not put it on.
- Jerry was not on site often enough so he was not inspecting the work at the start and end of each day even though he referred to himself as the forman. This cussed a communication issue on on of the days of the job.
- Approximate cost of services:
- $10,000.00
- Company Response
We apologize for any inconvenience you have incurred.
The "person"/"kid" you're referring to is my 18 year old son. And as an employee at The Foundation Guys, he is required to be insured and bonded. Therefore, ALL employees including my son are insured and bonded, as well as covered under WSIB.
- It is to be expected that there will be dust as you had a major construction project being conducted. We made an effort to cover your floors going to the basement, while also doing our best to minimize the demolition as much as possible.
-The entrance to the stairs had plastic hanging to quarantine the basement as a designated construction zone, as well as minimizing dust.
The fan can only handle a certain amount of dust, again, making an effort to contain the dust in the construction zone.
- I did not see a need for myself to be there twice a day, considering you were directing the workers on how you wanted the sub floor drainage system installed.*All of our installers are certified and trained through the International Basement Systems Network.
- Again, you were directing where you wanted the drainage system, where you wanted the ports, and where you wanted the pipes to tie into the pit for the back water valve. As I said previously, there was no need for me to direct the crew when you were directing the crew yourself.
You have also asked us to to pursue a second project for your backyard drainage issue, which you are directing the installation of.
We installed the sump pump you personally purchased. We included the CleanSpace wall membrane, for free with savings of $1700. We then included the Triple Safe Sump Pump liner with an alarm system, air tight lid, and floor drain at no extra cost.
We have done our best to keep you satisfied.
-If there were any concerns on your part, you had my personal contact number to reach me if any should arise.
In conclusion, Patrick was the crew leader and as you stated, he was incredibly professional and easy to talk to in answering your questions regarding your project, leaving your job well done.
Regards,Jerry
