Distinctive Glass Inserts

First off, this is way over due so please forgive me Grayson!! It all started with us wanting to do some changes with our 7 year-old house, so we started to do renovations in the interior of the house and the back yard. We hesitated on the front doors because we were undecided if we wanted a solid wood door or buy a brand new fiberglass door with an insert. We then came across Distinctive Glass Inserts, reviewed their selections that were available and had Grayson come to us for a quote. Grayson is very professional, polite, respectful to the homeowner and the family and cares for his customers. He explained the process, timelines and warranty. Going this route to get an insert versus getting a new door was the best way for us and we would get the look we want for the fraction of the price versus buying a new door. I looked at other quotes after Grayson and Distinctive was not the cheapest nor was it the most expensive but very reasonable for the Canadian Product backed with a 10 year warranty. No longer a cost thing, but an investment with true value add! Of course it is custom so you have to expect some wait but we wanted to show off the door at our next party so Grayson did what he could to expedite the process.

What we chose:
Converted our 3/4 original dual front doors to a full insert cut out
Malibu design was our favourite so we got that one.
To compliment the new door inserts we got new bronzed coloured hardware (door handle/deadbolt) and bronzed coloured hinges.
New weather stripping to top it off.

For the back garden door we had the full mini blind insert, which you can adjust the mini blinds inside the glass so it looks very seamless. You can have privacy, or tilt the blinds or have it wide open. With the front doors, we also had the hardware replaced, hinges and weather stripping.

When doing the work he was very mindful we had a toddler in the background so since all work is done onsite, he warned us that the cutting will be loud so we had our toddler go upstairs so she wouldn't get scared even though she wanted to watch because Grayson was very nice to her and friendly.

When Grayson also replaced the hinges, surprise! the holes from the builder from the previous door handles were not aligned at all and one hole was bigger than the other. He put some strong product bond to cover the hole, all I had to due is sand and paint it at a later date.

I would recommend Grayson to my family and friends and I regret I didn't write this up sooner. Everyday we love walking into our entrance because of the beautiful doors we now have. The full glass wrought iron also adds a bit of weight to the doors so it is pretty solid.

On a side note, he did notice some of our windows have broken seals, so instead of replacing a whole window out of pocket he offered that you may just need to replace the glass with him at a future date. I intend to do that when I'm ready since my 5 year warranty of our windows have expired.
