Household move gone very, very wrong

I booked the move with Whitby Movers. We are moving 500 feet away/6 houses from the original house. An untitled truck and 2 workers arrived the morning of the move. Immediately the driver told us he would not be moving the fridge as he needed a 3rd guy. I told him I told the person who booked our move the specific details about moving 3 fridges (2 to one house and 1 back to the original house). He showed me his work order and although it referred to 'each' for the number of fridges, it did not indicate more than one fridge. He told me that he wouldn't be able to get another guy that day. I called head office and left a voice mail. They never put runners down on the carpet and after only a couple of trips into the house to get furniture I noticed something red on the carpet. I thought at first it was the colour coming off of the one guy's shoes (orange bottom). As it turns out, it was red construction/clay dust that was coming from the inside of the moving truck. They had done a construction move until 4 am that morning and didn't have time to clean the truck out before coming to my house at 9 am. They walked in and out taking all the furniture and making a mess on the carpets. I called head office several times about the fridge and the carpets. Nobody returned my calls. I should have stopped the move right then and there. They carried the bbq through the house without removing the oil can and they dropped charcoal over the carpet and just stepped right through it. After arriving at the new house they came in and I noticed the red stains on the carpet again. I asked if they had runners and they went and got 3 of them. (That's all they had.) I put them on the stairs. My husband and I ran around placing the shower liners all over the carpets where they were needing to walk to put furniture. They brought pieces of furniture in that they had disassembled and didn't know how to put it together again. I was so frustrated I just told them to leave it and get the rest of the stuff off the truck. As they brought in my couch it was COVERED in red clay dust on the bottom where they had just dragged it across the bottom of the truck! And all the lining on the bottom was torn. I kept pointing it out to them and they never said anything...not one word! I told my daughters and husband to walk around the house and truck and take tons of pictures of the red dust, the hand prints on the walls, the footprints on the carpets, the hand prints on the mattresses. When there was only 3 mattresses and my dining room table left on the truck, the driver asked me to complete the credit card slip for payment. I told him 'when your head office finally calls me back, you'll get your slip'. He told me that he was going to close the door, lock the truck and drive away with the rest of my stuff unless I paid him. I told him 'go ahead. I'll call the police and have you arrested for theft'. I told him that he needed to call whatever private phone number he had for the head office and get someone to call me back. He did. The 'supervisor' (and I use that term loosely) told me to take pictures of everything and once the service is complete to phone them with the issues. He said they couldn't send anyone to help with the fridge today but would get it within a couple of days. (I had never told them I had the house for another week.) He directed the guys to remove the last of the furniture. After the furniture was off the truck and in my house the driver asked me how much I wanted to pay for him to move my fridges. I told him that the quote from the moving company was $45 per applicance - so $45x2 fridges would =$90. He said 'No way!' He wanted me to only pay part of the move (the minimum quoted from the company) on my credit card and pay him (and his friends who he would bring back another day) cash to do the rest. He told me that Whitby Movers is only part of the parent company Metropolitan Movers and they sub-contract to independents. (The 2nd guy was a student from McMaster who had got the call for a days worth of work for cash.) I was held hostage to get my $3000 fridge moved, so agreed to get him out of my house. He wanted paid upfront and I told him 'if I pay you now I'll never see you again, so you get 1/2 how and 1/2 when you and your friends come back.' He didn't like that, but agreed. He gave me his email address and I e-transferred the money to him (now I have a record of his behind the scenes activities). As he left the house he shook mine and my husband's hand and said 'nice to meet you'. I turned to my husband and said 'we will never see that guy again!'..(doubting that I would hear from him). He had told me he would come back on Tues or Wed to move the fridge, and on Wed evening the woman from head office (who had NEVER returned any of my frantic calls to her on the moving day) called me to find out if I had had the plumber disconnect the fridge. I told her that the driver said he was bringing 'plumber friend' and 'big strong friend' to help him lift the fridge, so no I hadn't done anything with a plumber. It's now 5 days since the move and my fridge is still in the original house!...so now I need to find a REAL mover to move it for me.
