Do not pay fully until job is done done done
Loui assigned this job to a business partner Fran. The main purpose of the job is to remove stucco ceiling from the agreed upon surfaces.
The job was largely done well. The ceiling was smooth and no signs of stucco remained on most of the ceiling. However, there were still stucco left behind on the areas around a few of the ceiling lights. This was pointed out midway during the operation and a couple of the spots were still missed.
Furthermore, a portion of the contractor was paid specifically for reinstallment of blinds after stucco removal. The contractor was able to fulfill most of that work but had a few he couldn't complete. He asked for more time and it was granted. But then he started giving one reason or another that he couldn't come - parts not arriving, lost car, broken tools, etc. 4 months later, still no sign of follow up despite promises via SMS.
This is a very odd outcome despite an otherwise smooth experience and the contractor still somehow requested me to leave a good review or to hire his friends for other contractual work.
For those who are looking to hire this company, make sure to work with them to pay in installments and expect that any promises for follow up work would not be fulfilled once you have paid them in full.
