One thing I will not compromise is the quality of my work. I provided an estimate for materials but the homeowner decided to source materials on their own to reduce cost. I advised Bryan and his wife Dayla that I cannot warranty my work based on the grade of the materials Bryan supplied and that I would highly recommend using my supplier for materials. The homeowners insisted that we proceed using the materials they supplied.
When I received a call back, I was prompt on getting over there. Bryan's wife Dayla notified me that their kids play soccer in the backyard (location of damage) and have possibly been kicking the ball against the finished cultured stone wall. I fixed the damaged stone at no charge and let them know that the stone they had provided was not designed to withstand this kind of punishment.
3 months later I received another call for more pieces of cultured stone that had broken off. It was clear that the damages were from some sort of punishment, likely kids kicking a soccer ball at it. I issued an invoice for the repairs but Bryan refuses to take responsibility.- Marc Fabbro
