Exterior Basement Waterproofing

Trupoint was referred to us from another contractor to repair our leaks into the basement externally. After meeting with Paul, we decided to hire them to do the work. The first issue that came up was that our phone line was snipped during the digging. I realize that things happen, but I wish that they had never snipped the line. This created more problems for the next 9 months trying to get the phone line fixed.

All of the waterproofing work was done as described and has not been an issue since. However certain parts of the job have not been completed and they are as follows:

1) Written guarantee. Paul has not provided this to us although it has been requested many times over the last two years, but he keeps promising to provide it. I don't know what we will do if there ever is an issue since we don't have his guarantee. By Paul not providing this to us, it makes it seem that he is not standing behind the work that his company did.
2) Our walk way. As part of the contract, they were to relay the interlocking walkway. On the advice of Paul, he said wait to let things settle and they would be back to finish the job. So we did this and contacted him. He kept providing excuses that he would get to us, but that he was too busy. The real reason I expect is that the job was not worth the money or his time. I thought by listening to a professional's advice to do something correctly, but really at the end of the day it is just about money and not quality service.

If your job does not have enough zero's behind it, keep looking for another contractor. The only reason that I gave the score I did instead of a 0, is that so far there have been no issues with water in our basement. However, dealing with Paul has made it a negative experience instead of a positive one.

Update:

Paul has provided the written guarantee which I am grateful for.

Basement underpinning, benching, sump pit and concrete slab installation

We are very very pleased with the work that Paul and Vic did for our us in our basement dig out. They provided the cleanest underpinning work we have seen on any project. They definitely have the expertise to do this careful structural work. It was a true relief to know they were professionals with their own structural engineer reviewing their work. Our project was a challenging row house with all of the earthwork moving required to be done via a very tight laneway. Paul was the one underpinning contractor who quoted our job and provided solutions to facilitate this challenging condition. This problem solving collaborative spirit continued to the very end of the project. We are very pleased and would highly recommend Trupoint.

Exterior Basement Waterproofing

Paul and his crew at Tru Point did an excellent job with our basement waterproofing. In just 3 days they were able to excavate, parge, seal, replace weepers, drains and instal window wells all while leaving a neat and tidy job site. I certainly appreciated their hard work and fair price. I have not had any trouble with water since the Tru Point crew was here, and will continue to recommend Paul and his team to anyone needing waterproofing services.

Hi Dan, thank you for the review. We have received another call from one of your neighbors so thanks again for recommending us, it mean a lot. I passed by the other day and it doesn't look like the gravel has sunk very much so you should be good for asphalt.

Paul and his team at Tru Point are fantastic! We would recommend them to anyone, and in fact have recommended them to family members. We had a leak in our basement, and Paul was quick to take a look, troubleshoot, and get the job done. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, but he was understanding and patient as well. Our waterproofing job was done quickly and effectively. This winter was one of the worst yet from a precipitation point of view and thanks to Paul and Tru Point, all of the water stayed outside where it belongs. Thanks guys!

Underpinning existing foundation, excavating and pouring new foundation for three-level addition

My wife and I are very pleased with the work done by Paul and Vic. They helped us take a 60-year old house and bring it into the 21st century, on budget and on time despite some challenging weather. Also, during the great rain storm in June 2013, they came by after hours to help clean up the water damage on the upper floors. These guys are skilled, responsible, and care about the quality of their work. We would happily retain them again.

May 7, 2014

Over the past year I recognized water seeping through the bricks in my crawl space.  I noticed that it was getting worse every rain storm we had.  I did my very best in trying to do the repairs myself from the inside but had no success.  This past April we decided to call a professional to get the job done right.  Paul from Tru Point was very courteous and professional.  What I like most was he was very detail orientated.  Vic and his team did an excellent job completing the work quickly and cleaned up once the work was done.  I really got a sense that they took pride in the work they do.  I would recommend Tru point.

“Paul and the team at Tru Point are fantastic and we would recommend them to anyone. They are prompt, fast and thorough. We received numerous compliments from our neighbours as to how friendly and courteous the crew were while working on our house. Paul’s team did 2 major jobs for us. They dug out and waterproofed our 90+ year old foundation which was leaking. Ever since, our walls have been bone dry. Cost approx $10K all in. Then they did an interlock/landscape job of our front yard. When it was done, our house was the talk of the street and I had numerous people stop by and ask who did the beautiful work for us. Paul had great ideas for us and the team executed them to perfection. Cost approx $5.5K. We wish dealing with all contractors was as pleasant as dealing with Paul and TruPoint team.”
