Chris performed our home inspection for a newbuild a few days ago. Chris was very thorough and caught things that I never would have seen or thought of. The inspection report itself blew me away. He produced something above and beyond what I expected. He is very knowledgeable and practical as well. It was money well spent. I would highly recommend Chris to anybody who is looking for a home inspector.

Hi PU, Thanks for taking the time to talk about the inspection on your newly built Coquitlam home. People often ask if it is worth getting an inspection on new builds. Sharing your experience lets other know it is worthwhile. With the crazy Vancouver and the lower Mainland market builders are putting up houses as fast as they can. Whether intentional or not that seems to come with some short cuts. With a recent client we were actually able to determine the builder had left out the soundproofing the client had paid a premium for. This meant the builder had remove all the ceiling and walls in the basement to start again, talk about delays. Builders are also scrambling for experienced trades. More and more it seems builders are in a rush to get a sign off on completion. Your experience is no exception. As discussed on site the home really wasn't complete and while most of the issues were simply finishing work builders should know better. Asking for a final walk through before it is actually complete inevitably leads to another walk through. This also leads to greater aggravation. At Haystack Home Inspections we are so happy when clients like you write to tell us their home inspection WAS MONEY WELL SPENT. Thanks. Sincerely, Chris Thompson
