Gj's Tree Service

GJ’s removed a large tree in my yard which was done in a timely manner at a fair price. That part I was happy with. The downside was that I was left with the large cut pieces of the tree trunk to dispose of, which fortunately my neighbour took, otherwise the energy and cost to dispose of the wood would have been an issue. He ground down the stump to a few inches below the surface and left all the chips. The chips hid a large piece of stump which was above the surface so I can’t move forward filling the hole with dirt. After months of trying to contact him, he finally responded recently and said he would come out but he didn’t show up and he won’t return my calls. Disappointing Gabe!

Gabe and his crew did a wonderful job removing 3 hazardous willow trees from my backyard. This was a difficult assignment as the trees were in a very small area leaning against the house. I contacted seven companies and only two responded. The other company wanted three times as much! Great work, great price! Thank you Gabe.

We had requests out for quotes from several tree services in Maple Ridge. Gabe from GJ's Tree Service was the first to both answer and come out with a quote. It was also the best price and quickest schedule.
We had 2 decorative cedars (28 years old) removed and the stumps ground down to approx. 10 inches below surface as requested.
Gabe had the area cleaned up with everything removed before he left.
Gabe was pleasant to deal with and did an excellent job, a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for a job well done.

Dishonest!
I hired JG's to grind down some old stumps on my property. I was provided a quote for $300. I was quoted that stumps would be ground down to 10-12 inches below ground level. I agreed to get the work done; but, when I came home on the day, I found all the stumps were only ground down 4 inches below the lawn surface. Also, all the grinding were filled back into the holes - likely in an attempt to hide the fact that they weren't ground down to where they should have been. In the past, whenever I had such work done by other companies, they left the hole exposed; so, I could see that they went down to the agreed upon depth.

I suggest you avoid GJ's and look for a more reputable company.

Terrible! Gabe couldn't trim a hedge straight if his life depended on it.
When I asked him to fix his lack of quality work, he became hostile and didn't want to do it. It was only after I threatened to contact the BBB, that he reluctantly did.
Avoid at all costs!

We have 12 giant pine trees on our property that have plagued our garden with needles and shade. After calling a few other companies like Urban Lumberjack (no return call) and Tree People (said the would come give us a quote and never showed) I called Gabe at GJ's. Gabe came by quickly and gave us a reasonable quote to raise the canopy to 40 feet as tree removal was out of our budget. The crew Andre and Chris arrived on a Sunday and worked throughout the day on this challenging job. Our trees are next to power lines and each on needed to be climbed and branches roped off and lowered. The chipped all the branches as they went and cleaned up after. The garden is bright and sunny now with far less needles to deal with. I will call Gabe first for any tree work in the future.
