No Satisfaction

This is our second hire of TilesRus and our last. TilesRus was hired to repair 5 sq ft of cracked and missing grout. The initial job attempts
failed to satisfy us. Unfortunately, after 45 days of trying to reconcile (redo or partial money return) we just redid the work ourselves. Pictures attached.

* Response to TilesRus comments:

Only one tile was loose. I removed it, cleaned it and reattached the tile bottom to the floor, then grouted the area with the proper colour grout. We have had a few get togethers since the owners repair with much activity on the tiles since everyone hangs out in a kitchen.

If the one tile was removed and inspected by TilesRus the problem would have been noticed and dark grey colour grout applied this would have been resolved.

The TilesRus owner moved forward with the project. Then told the owners after the 40 minute job that the grouting would not hold up and the subfloor will need to be replaced. Ethically, why did he move forward in putting something that he did not believe would work (3hrs). We contacted the TilesRus owner the following day and after 45 days of nothing we had to move forward ourselves.

Approximate cost of services:
$800.00

Company Response

Joe is one of our best client, prepared, great hospitality, friendly and pays on time.

Unfortunately the second job was to re grout cracked grout on a small section of an entrance area. The cracked grout was removed and re grouted with new grout twice . However it seems like the subfloor is not stable or intact ( meaning that the floor is somehow moving once walked on ) .

My job is to remove and replace grout with new color matching grout only. The service was rendered twice in a row, asking for 50% back is simply misunderstanding in my own opinion.

If the subfloor is moving or unstable the grout will always crack again and that is something out of my control .

Joe claimed he redid the job himself and I email him asking how he did that ? Did he change the subfloor? But got no reply. Am curious to know how he bypassed replacing the whole subfloor and solved the grout cracking problem ?

I've been doing this for a long time and am considered one of the best , if not the best in the business
