I called and spoke to Sam about what I thought might be the furnace short-cycling, meaning it would come on but cut out before reaching the set temperature, and then repeat over and over.

I wanted Sam to come and diagnose and repair the issue. Sam suggested that the filter being dirty and requiring replacement can sometimes create this problem. He did acknowledge that it could be something else but suggested that before he comes, that I change the filter and save money if that was the fix.

So far - so good! It seems to have made a difference, and the temperature is on the rise - which is great in -30 degree weather!
