I found Rory on homestars and hired him to renovate the kid’s bathroom in our 100 year old house. It was a complete gut down to the studs. We swapped out the original claw foot tub for a shower/tub combo with a niche, and moved the location of all the fixtures for a more functional layout. We couldn't be happier with the result- it actually turned out better than I envisioned.
Living through a renovation with a toddler isn't ideal, but everyday before Rory left, he meticulously cleaned the house so that it was safe for when our toddler came home from daycare. My husband and I were very impressed.
I went with a herringbone pattern on the walls, which ended up adding a couple days to the job and to the cost, but this was all clearly outlined in the contract. No surprises and we are thrilled with the result.
I am always a bit skeptical when I see only 5/5 star reviews on homestars, but I had a good feeling about Rory from our first meeting and went with it. He did not disappoint! My sister has already hired him to do her bathroom renovation next month. I wanted to add to his collection of great reviews, because this is where I found him.

The original layout in this bathroom had made the space look a lot smaller and had a very awkward feel to it due to were the fixtures were placed. We gutted the bathroom and moved all the fixtures on the same wall and added a custom open shelving unit. In the end the layout became more functional and made the bathroom look a lot bigger by utilizing all the space we had. Love that herringbone pattern of the tile install.
