When we decided to finally renovate our circa 1950 main bathroom, we research contractors and received four quotes. This was a complete tear-down so we were dismayed to hear of the limitations placed on the desired size of the walk-in shower, among other things, by the first three contractors. This house had all the original fixtures and tub from around the 1950s, with the old cast iron tub down to the original old radiator. We gutted the bathroom and re did the plumbing stack along with installing a new custom shower with the roller glass system, a new updated rad, and some recessed medicine cabinets for space saving.
