I called Sid to check the chimneys in our new house. He came for the inspection, recommended quite a few repairs and changes, but cleaned up well after his work in the house. He made a mess in the outside fireplace but didn't bother to clean that up. I had him back to do the repairs on 2 chimneys. When he arrived he suddenly wasn't able to do both that day and left after completing the one to go to another customer. He left a bag of masonry product in our garage, tossed and left a metal plate in the dog yard and left the dog yard gate open when he left. I won't use Sid again.

I remembered this job after i checked all reviews from this client. I remember, specifically, that Waterloo Appliance was there the same day. All I can say is that I asked the client if i could go do another job first and come back and do theirs. The client said yes. All jobs were performed with top quality labour and materials and the customer was charged the price i had quoted.
As for the mess in the outside chimney and the metal plate, the customer didn't pay me to clean the outside chimney, only the inside one at a previous time. I inspected the outside chimney for free, which involved the painstaking removal of a metal plate. Insulation fell out which i swept up. The metal plate was left in the fireplace, which could not be used. Sometimes masonry odds and ends are created when chipping away loose mortar and almost always is no problem for the homeowner to take the 3lb box or bag to the corner on garbage day. As for the dog gate, I have no excuse and will own that error. I always leave them closed when i leave, but in this case I guess I didn't.
