Every time we have used Gillespie’s services we have been completely satisfied. Ryan always has great ideas and has talked us out of some of our own “bad ideas”. Service is always fast, professional and completed on time. We highly recommend them.

Ryan and his team are incredibly experienced and have saved us a great deal of money over a variety of jobs. Ryan has an ability to see things and provide guidance that few other in the industry can. He has provided us fabulous advice and guidance on how to solve and finish a multitude of jobs around our house. He and his team are prompt, hard working and efficient! They have extended our living space with a beautiful deck (built in a day) and most recently finished our basement in record time! I would strongly recommend them for any work around the house.

Our old deck was badly weathered and underbuilt for it size. We got a number of quotes for its removal and replacement but selected Gillespie because they included all the features we were looking for and pile foundations, not blocks. The Job took longer than anticipated due to unforeseen rock bu the result was worth it. The deck looks great, and is solid underfoot.
I have already recommended Gillespie to my neighbours.

The entire experience with Gillespie was very positive and professional. We had several companies to come check out our yard and chat with us before picking a contractor. Gillespie was by far the one that seemed to actually care the most; we described what we wanted and what we hoped to get, and Ryan actually challenged us with a few questions and a few scenarios rather than just giving us a price. For example, he actually recommended that we build a smaller deck than we intended because, in his professional opinion, the extra space we’d be getting wouldn’t be useful so we’d essentially be paying more for nothing. He was completely right. We also originally wanted a bench built into the railing and he advised against it; he said he’d certainly build it for us if that’s what we really wanted but that, in his opinion, no built-in bench is ever really comfortable and so people generally wind up not using them and regretting the extra cost. We never got the impression that he was trying to make the job easier for himself; rather, we got the impression that he actually cared that we’d get something that we’d actually love and fully enjoy. He also counselled us on colours (too dark lots of sun = burning hot on the feet), material (certain finishes wet dew or rain = very slippery), etc. There were a lot of little things like that none of the other companies ever got into. They just priced it out and gave us a quote.

Throughout the build (which took no time), the project manager always responded quickly, with lots of advice and pictures for inspiration, etc. She also adjusted the quote, work order, or invoice accordingly as necessary and was readily available to answer questions.

In sum, Gillespie took our project seriously, completed the work quickly and well, they gave us excellent customer service and we were very happy with the experience. We now have a gorgeous composite deck and we look forward to using it next year!

We are happy with our new deck and 2 patio stone pads. We added railings, extra steps and bench seating to the deck which makes it a very enjoyable area. The stone pads were for a gazebo and a shed. One of the pads needed more levelling to accommodate the shed structure.
Since we have had such nice late summer/early fall weather, we have enjoyed our entire backyard space for an extended period. Ryan was great to work with. He built the deck well, put in full building days and also finished on time. Love our new space!
