I was looking for a contractor to fix my chimney cap on my house. Aside from the cap, my chimney appeared to be in a good state, so I did not believe I needed any kind of rebuild. Just needed someone to climb wayyyy up and seal my chimney (so I didn't wake up to baby birds in my living room again).
Anyway, I exchanged emails with Daniel after talking to a couple contractors. Most guys were looking to put up a big scaffold and do a full repair on the top 5 layers of brick, which would cost a significant amount.
Daniel came by, and he listened and looked at the problem and advised that I could easily get away with just some more cement on the top to seal it and to save the money for a full scaffold until I really needed a chimney repair. So for a quarter of the price, he said he could just get a crazy tall ladder and climb up and seal it off.
Daniel was good about communication and the job was done within my desired timeframe, though I would say his timing/scheduling methods will require a bit of patience. It was not a complex job, so I can't comment on his technical aptitude, but he was trustworthy. He even came back to help put some gap-filler in an awkward/high up spot free of charge.
I would recommend to others for roof fixes.
