I went into Trail Appliances looking to purchase washer that cleaned coveralls and the sale person Paul recommended me one, LG front loader washer for $1000 + tax. This machine was purchased with the assurance of the Sales rep that it was the most appropriate machine for washing heavily soiled work place coveralls.
We stopped using it after the two days of use. It was not cleaning the coveralls no matter what cycles were used; at best the cleaning was 50% of the previous basis top loader.
Also it was taking an hour & 20 minutes per load, the previous top loader would easily take 5-7 pairs of full size cotton coveralls, the LG 3-4 pairs only. After doing some research I found out that top loader washers are the best for heavy soiled clothing (you would think the sales rep would know this…)
In short we relied upon Trails expertise in the selection and it failed short.
I originally requested for store credit and told them I will purchase something else but the first offer was a 50% restocking fee made by the branch sales manager ( which would cost me about $550!!!) , the 2nd was a 35% restocking fee by the branch store manager, both of which are not acceptable. Why should I be penalized for something they sold me with assurance that this product was the best for what I needed? I would have purchased anything they recommended because we needed the washer right away and I know nothing about washers.
Trail appliance started as small business that thrived on customer service but now all they want to do is make quick sale and leave you stranded if you have problem. They give you the run around, not returning phone calls. All my home appliances are from Trail Appliance but from now on I will never purchase from them again.
I am still waiting for them to get back to us (now going on two weeks) but looks like I am stuck with this useless washer. Soooo sad?
