**Rude and Unprofessional**
First things first. If you are paying someone to get services done, the provider is not doing any favor to you and that you expect an acceptable level of services.
One of the most shocking experience was getting our windows cleaned by Royal Oak Cleaning. So we bought this coupon and set a date for them to come over and do the job at least 45 days in advance.
The deal was that he will come, clean the windows and as a package if we keep open the windows he will wipe them from inside as well. He also confirmed that if we took out the screens, he could clean them as well.
The guy confirmed on email and over phone regarding the date and time. We planned our day accordingly. However, when the guy didn't arrive at the confirmed time, I gave a call at the phone number provided and left a voice message. After a while i got a text from the "president" of the company that the guy will be there after 5-6 hours from the previously confirmed time. This was a setback:
a) How can you change the time at the last minute?
b) I was the one who called and was checking in. If they had altered the time, they should have informed us in advance
c) Completely ignored the inconvenience it caused us, no sorry or anything.
The guy arrived, I greeted him and asked him if he needed me to do anything. It took him 20 min to start.
As he was setting up his stuff, I gently asked him if he wants me to open all the windows at once or one by one. Bang came a blurt reply that he is only supposed to do exterior cleaning. I asked him that why is it so now since he confirmed initially for both inside and outside and that anyways he was supposed to come early morning. He just came towards me in a threatening manner and spoke to me in the most rude manner anyone from service industry can speak! Apparently, the "president" of the company was his wife and I don't know what was communicated to him and he was furious that I insulted his wife. Now that was a shock a) being a customer I was the one who should have been angry with the service treatment I got and here I was being yelled at! I had only told the "president" that I should have been informed earlier and that it ruins my day's schedule since I had a confirmation email for an earlier appointment. Also, I aksed for a firm time instead of now-he-will-be-there-after 11am. b) for whatever reason, you cannot yell at your customer in the service industry! I am a consultant myself, so if I disagree with my client, should I just go and speak to him in utter angst??
Anyways, when I started explaining my communication with the "president" he threatened me saying "do you want me to leave right now". Now that was the icing on the cake. I couldn't fathom the fact that how can he say that! I was bound by the coupon agreement that if I didn't render the services, I will not get the refund. moreover, I had lost all the faith that this guy and the "president" will refund me the money since it was a prepaid coupon. He even went on to say that he spent 20 bucks to come to my place to do the job and he is getting nothing out of it and he is very busy. That's contradicting, why are you trying to sell your services through the coupon company if you are that busy? Anyways, I asked him to complete the job.
Coming to the job itself, it was a very shabby job that he did. Left 4 windows uncleaned and left without telling us that he was done!! Height of unprofessional behavior!
We felt insulted in this whole episode. I will highly recommend everyone NOT to use this company for any services. No professionalism and very bad service.
