In October 2008, I engaged Winmax to replace most of the windows in my home. The cost came to $16,275. The first day when the installer came to start the job, I noticed the color of the windows were completely off. They did not match the color of my home at all. They look horrible. I immediately told the installer not to proceed with the job and the color must match as agreed in the initial quotation. I was told they did not have that color. Why would they agree to go ahead with the job if they don't stock that kind of color? I insisted that they go back to fix the problem as it was not what was presented to me at the quotation. The company finally agreed to changed the color. Even though it was not 100% matching the existing color, at least it was not completely off. I have not been satisfied with the workmanship or the material. Consider the sum of money I paid, it should be at least better than what was installed. After many weeks of delay and numerous phone calls and argument with the company owner, the windows were finally installed. Then in January, one of the windows was cracked. The cause is unknown. I can only speculate that it was because of the poor material which could not sustain the severe cold winter. I immediately called the company to file a warranty claim. Every single time when I called, I was given the run around such as "someone will get in touch with you" or "we are really busy and we will come take a look at it when we have a moment" etc etc. I don't remember how many calls I have made to try get hold of someone. Either it is the voice mail or it just rings and rings with no answer even during office hour. It is now June and no one has even called me. I have a very busy job and I cannot find the time to go up to their office and speak to them face to face. It is ridiculous how they handle the situation. I will definitely NOT recommend them to anyone. Stay away from these people who are irresponsible and have no scruples whatsoever!! I am quite sure whoever put in a 10 review must be a friend or a relative or someone whom they paid to put in a good review. They are definitely not someone you would want to deal with.
