Eavestrough & Chimeny Cleaning
Purchased a voucher for "Eavestrough Cleaning" via TeamBuy as we wanted them cleaned of leaves before winter. Called HomePro to make an apointment, and were told that someone would call back. Had to call again to get an apointment. When they finally called back to make apointment, they said that far as "Eavestrough Cleaning" was concerned, they were shutting down for the season. Why then were they selling Eavestrough Cleaning at this time of year? Had to insist. They finally agreed to come this morning. We have a normal 2 storey house, however apparently there are parts that are to high for him to reach -- even though I reached those areas myself in previous years. He also had an issue with accessing the eavestrough on one side of the house as it was too close to the next door neighbour and was uncomfortable in standing on both roofs. Fortunantly at this time we are able to get our voucher refunded as no work was done.
Previously we had our chimneyy cleaned [another 'groupon']. There were number of 'no-shows'. When they finally came, we were upsold on a chimeny cap and tuckpointing. Don't really know if they actually did anything as very little came down the chimney during the cleaning; nor was any creosote removed from the top of the chimney. [This would have been the 1st cleaning in over 8 years. We use the fireplace several times each winter] We also discovered recently that the flue was damaged. As mentioned previously, we use the fireplace several times each winter & there was never a problem with the flue. The last person to do anything with the flue was the HomePro technician.
