I've had the privilege of having my home monitored, for the past few years, by Private Eye Security. A few words can describe this company. Reliable: Never experienced any system, product issues. Professional: The gentleman that installed my home security system didn't try to sell me additional products, took his time to explain everything in detail and ensured I understood. I was also able to reuse some of my old products from my previous service provider. However I did upgrade a few items to better suit my needs and a fraction of the cost of what I was use to. Friendly: The technician that installed the security system, was very friendly as well as patient. After sale service is amazing, I recommend Private Eye Security to everyone I know. I use Private Eye Security for my home as well as my mothers.

Didn't have a good experience with my first alarm system, a very large company that I wont mention by name, so I wasn't expecting great things but hoping for a better experience when my contract ended. Happy to say the experience was seemless and unlike most people these days they (a) show up (b) show up on time (c) care about customers. Wouldn't hesitate to use again - Not surprised others have had much of the same to say.

Great to work with this company. They come at a time that is convenient for you, and only recommend what they think you need. We also appreciated dealing directly with the owner who is very professional and very serious about customer service.

Like many others we did our homework, called five or so local alarm system companies for quotes and had a couple in to interview.
Some of the larger companies I found were out to lunch with pricing, $40+/month for monitoring + system install (had to get cellular or at least that was their sales approach). It left us with two companies in the Ottawa area that installed a similar DSC system and had decent monitoring prices (I don't think home insurance is dropped unless it is a monitored system so for that reason alone is it worth it to sign up - likely cuts monitoring costs in half).
When we had Private Eye Security in the first time they were very respectful. For example, we had a consultation booked for 5pm and they were early, though my wife was home they opted to wait in the car until I arrived. This really started things off well and from there I was just further impressed with the answers to the hundreds of questions we had (from placement of sensors, type of system, equipment used, operation of the system, monitoring, ip vs cellular vs phone…), they showed great patience and interest in our business.
Without a doubt we chose Private Eye Security in the end of our search and are very glad we did. We got what we thought was very professional work without feeling like we are paying out of our pockets for it every month.
The installation went well, everything was as expected with a couple extras I’m sure other companies may have charged extra for. The wire to and around the panel was all neatly managed (to me this was very impressive). Extra wire for the basement sensors was provided to make for an easier basement finishing.
The system has been installed for a week and we are very happy. I’d say 25% of the time we arm the system from our phones and rest of the time through the keypad. The system was setup in way that we can easily arm the system at night without feeling like we’re going to risk false alarms.

After meeting with multiple security companies within the Ottawa area, my husband and I decided to go with Private Eye Security. Our decision was easy as the consultation with the owner made us feel very comfortable and knowledgeable about his products. He answered all of our questions (there were MANY MANY questions) and reassured us that if we had more he would be available through phone or email to answer them.

The price for the total system was in our price range which was fabulous. The reviews we had read online were fantastic and the service was fabulous.

The install was quick and fast. I run a home daycare and so I was concerned with how the children would adapt to having “unknown” people in the house. But the concern quickly disappeared when both workers introduced themselves to the children and made us all VERY comfortable.

When deciding on a home security system it sometimes may feel overwhelming, but as soon as we met with Private Eye Security we knew we had chosen a company that would be perfect for our family’s needs.

We certainly were NOT disappointed. My family would definitely recommend Private Eye Security to all our friends, family and neighbours. We have felt so comfortable and safe within our home and for that we thank “Private Eye”.

What sold me was their honest advice during the consultation. I was given useful information on the best possible location of security components , and this information was given in a very non-obligatory way. The advice was given to me on an honest basis, for my own security's sake, not for the sake of a sale.

I went with Private Eye Security just on the basis of this. The installation, and the monthly monitoring rates are one of the lowest I could find, and they made it very clear you are on a 'non-contract' basis. This was very important to me, as I believe contracts for home monitoring are simply wrong.

The installation looks fantastic, and the technicians cleaned up after themselves.

They showed up on time and gave me their opinion about the best possible component configuration (actually saved me from having to buy extra components because they installed the components in smart locations throughout the house). Their sales approach was very relaxed and laid everything out on the table for me and my wife to decide. After we got 2 other quotes from 2 other security companies, Private Eye Security was the clear winner ... not because they were the cheapest but because of their professionalism, expert advice, low monitoring rate, clean installation (they even cleaned up after themselves!), always answered their calls even after work hours, trouble shooted alarm issues with me right over the phone thus saving me valuable time, etc...

I got my alarm service from "private eye" approximately two years ago, and it has been by far the most professional, and quality service I've had from a home monitoring company. My service really exceeds the industries standard, with there professionalism they really made it effortless and convenient for me, at the same time giving my the knowledge of how my system works and how to properly use my monitoring. Also the quality of there systems and the technology the use brings a huge sense of comfort and peace of mind to me and my family knowing we have such a trusted company monitoring our home. I defiantly recommend "Private Eye Security" for anyone looking for monitoring for there house or business, and I will personality keep my business with them always.

I first heard of Private Eye Security from a co worker that had used their services. From the get go I was amazed at how professional, courteous, helpful and caring the staff was. They were on time, provided me with lots of information and went above and beyond the call of duty. I was not 100 sold on an alarm system prior to moving in but we cannot live without it now, the piece of mind alone is worth the price. Highly recommend these guys, the guy even helped me move stuff around my basement that I was not able to do myself, also helped with my TV set up.
