The pillars supporting the carport (which runs partially under the house's 2nd storey) were in need of proper finishing, not having been done so by previous owners. To prevent water damage and subsequent rotting, the pillars needed to be cladded and have sloped bases added. David Espley told us his hourly rate and told us the final cost would be a combination of this and material costs. He did, however, give us an estimate. He worked diligently to a truly professional result. His cost did go beyond his estimate but, in a tremendous show of customer service, did not charge us any more than that estimate. This level of service is rare. We plan to call David back for another carpentry job.
