We moved into a 40yr old house having much hardwood flooring. Renovations by previous owners involved removing a closet and and shortening a wall. The gaps left in the floor were extremely poorly patched. We wished to have them fixed properly so that one would never know that any repair had been done. We got a half dozen estimates from private contractors to large flooring companies. Some claimed that repairs would always be visible. Others were asking many thousands of dollars.
